Pounds of carbon that never were!

Since we installed our solar panels about two months ago, we’ve saved over 2800 pounds of carbon. And today, our rebate check from the California Solar Initiative finally arrived, sadly for less than we had anticipated. Either way, we have no regrets and are happy to be green.

A Little Slice of Berkeley

I walked outside to take Golden Boy (our customer greeter) for a walk. I ran into a nice man named, Mike The Psych. He had taken BART up from Hayward to meet his friend at Peets coffee, to bring him some Chinese herbs. He gave me a “free” poem. He said I could share it with everyone. Here it is:

A Durgery for the Surgery

by Mike Singer

Take out the knife

Please save my life

I love my wife

I hear the fife

Take a deep breath

My old friend death

keeps coming near

What do I fear

Look for blue lights

Source of delights

It takes 40 nights

For the souls flights

Don’t be alarmed

I’m well embalmed

I went with the surgeon

To fish for a sturgeon

Mets have now won 9 in a row!

And everyone at LMi.net is very happy about it.

Also, we learned something extraordinary from the Chronicle this morning:

— Former A’s infielder Frank Menechino is working as a member of the media and covered the players’ news conferences for freethefan.com. “You know me,” Menechino said. “I’m short, but I’m not short for words.”

Big Bank Frank, Mr Money Menechino, is one of our most admired players ever.  Five foot eight, two hundred pounds, Frankie has a wicked knuckleball and 36 lifetime homeruns.  He truly is Staten Island’s finest.

New conference room table

We’ve been using Dano’s old kitchen table for years. Today, our good friends at Forte Systems gave us their old table. Thanks Wendy!

Welcome to the LMi.net blog

Here at LMi we’re starting a company blog.  We hope to fill it with useful tips, behind the scenes stories, and plans for the future.  With any luck, it should be both fun and move us and our customers closer together.

We’d like you to get to know us, and we think that’s possible because we’re not a monolithic, faceless corporation; we’re your friendly neighborhood internet service provider, the one with the solar panels on the roof and the wonky wireless antenna.  We’re a ship full of colorful characters–just like Berkeley!
